Interested in solving your next relationship problem before it happens? Read on!
Everything you need to know about a person to determine if they will be a good match for is hidden deep within their psyche. It is not easily discovered because we are afraid to let people know who we really are fearing their rejection.
In the absence of such concrete data about this other person we have to rely on clues from our interactions then make a decision based on our instinctual gut response. It is an imperfect decision to say the least but for most people it's all they have.
My mission is to help you either find someone who compliments your temperament or if you are already in a committed relationship to help you understand each other in greater depth. When this happens you will be able to solve many of the problems in your relationship before they happen?

What makes us happy? In a study titled, Personality, Culture and Subjective Well-Being: Emotional and Cognitive Evaluation of Life the researchers looked at how various cultures viewed happiness as well as how individual personality types affect happiness. They concluded, "Do people want to be happy, or do they want other valued goals more than happiness? Do they want those other goals because they will make them happy? We suggest that people all over the world most want to be happy by achieving the things they value.”
While this is insightful and helpful it fails to address an important internal dynamic of what to do when one part of you values one thing but another part values something different.
Once you understand that a healthy mind is designed to have multiple personalities so much begins to make sense. You recognize how everything you do is an attempt to make a part of you happy. But making one part happy inevitably angers other parts. One path to authentic happiness is to acknowledge and unify the many parts of your personality when what they want conflicts with each other.

"Before my sessions with Reb, I felt lost and ungrounded. He provided me with the exact guidance and tools I needed to turn things around for me and my daughter. I have learned a great deal about myself and will be eternally grateful for all of it (even the things I didn't want to hear)!" |
"Reb enabled me to find hope and happiness after experiencing debilitating trauma. He is wise, compassionate, patient and truly gifted as a therapist. I strongly recommend Reb for anyone considering therapy, and for anyone who thinks they don't know if they really need it or not. One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself is the gift of stepping outside of your stressful life and into Reb's office for an hour where you are free to express yourself in a nonjudgmental space." |
