Spiritual Health

Mental health is now a top priority in our country as its importance is being recognized and stigma decreasing but what about spiritual health? Spirituality is a nebulous word meaning different things to different people. When we use the phrase spiritual counsel we are inviting you to a conversation to discuss the most important questions of your life. Who are you? Why are you here? What is the purpose of your life? What happens when you die?

We believe everyone is spiritual. To some, this may conjure ideas of a soul as taught by Christians. This could also refer to an eternal essence that continues on after death as described by scientists. Either way, we believe part of us never dies.

As spiritual people we long for meaning and purpose that include but also go beyond achievement, wealth, and success. This is why love, wisdom, and integrity are integral for living The Sacred Life. We believe these three virtues are the cornerstone of eternal truth and will lead you to a most amazing life.

When you practice living in unison with the three virtues of love, wisdom, and integrity combined with the wisdom of your mind, heart (emotions) and body, you are living the spiritual life.

Each of the three virtues are strong on their own but do have weaknesses that the other virtues account for. For example, wisdom and integrity without love is harsh and rigid. Love and wisdom without integrity is reckless. Love and integrity without wisdom is ungrounded and adrift.

Finally, when I say spiritual I mean love because love is above all. This means love for yourself and love for others.

“If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don't love, I'm nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I give everything I own to the poor but I don't love, I've gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I am bankrupt without love.”
